hey.
My name is Buncencia. You can call me Kristine.
I've been working in acrylic, digital, and mixed media for over 30 years. I've trained at the League of Reston Artists in Reston, VA, the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria VA, and am currently painting at the Delaplaine in Frederick, MD. I'm also a former holistic mental health NP and worked as a healthcare provider for over 15 years. I'm a professed Franciscan and am passionate about outsider art, my faith, neuroaesthetics, and dogs.
ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is not meant to match your couch.
It is meant to wake up something buried in you, to whisper to your unconscious mind, to light a fire in your core.
It is not always gentle, but it is always True. I paint wild because life is wild, messy because healing is messy.
Every work I create is a prayer, a mirror and a medicine, a translation of the ineffable to the visible.
Through raw texture, luminous color, and asemic writing I hope restore connection to the deepest recesses of your soul.
Art heals – it can soften pain, awaken memories, and restore connection to your deepest Self. As a lifelong healer, I hope to do that for you.
I invite viewers to engage with my work not as decoration, but as a living prayer for mending, healing, and transcendence.
