Artist Bio

Kristine Burneko Abstract Artist

I have been painting since I could hold a paintbrush.  As I child, I first studied at the League of Reston Artists in Reston, Virginia with Lassie Corbett.  As I got older, I started training at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Virginia taking classes in figure drawing, oil painting, cartooning, and acrylic painting.

I continued to create paintings and drawings through my teenage years, and eventually began designing tattoos, album covers, custom t-shirts, and painting commissioned portraits.  After college, I directed most of my artistic efforts to marketing and web design for private medical practices as I myself became a medical provider for almost 20 years.

Now, I focus on abstract painting and train at the Delaplaine Center for the Arts in Frederick, Maryland with Ed Ramsburg. I have exhibited at the Delaplaine, TAG, Eastside, and Artspiration galleries here in Maryland, and when I'm not painting, I'm traveling all over the state, joyfully participating in art festivals and vendor shows.  I continue to offer commissioned work - abstract and representational, canvases, and digital.

There is nothing I love more than meeting fellow art-lovers in the area, getting to know the folks that enjoy my work and give it new homes, and exploring the rich arts community in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. I'm truly grateful to be able to share all of this with you!
